A beautiful vintage Aamu serving platter produced by Arabia Finland between 1971 and 1973.<\/p>\n
The Aamu decoration was designed by celebrated Finnish ceramic artist Esteri Tomula, whose delicate and highly recognisable botanical illustrations appeared on many of Arabia\u2019s most beloved tableware designs.<\/p>\n
Aamu means \u201cmorning\u201d in Finnish \u2013 a fitting name for this fresh blue-and-white pattern. Deep cobalt-blue flowers and gently curling stems form a continuous border around the clean white centre, creating a composition that feels both cheerful and beautifully balanced.<\/p>\n
The decoration is paired with Arabia\u2019s A-model, designed by G\u00f6ran B\u00e4ck. Its softly rounded form provides a simple backdrop for Tomula\u2019s detailed floral decoration.<\/p>\n
Produced for only a relatively short period from 1971 to 1973, Aamu is a wonderful example of Finnish tableware design from the early 1970s.<\/p>\n
