A classic vintage Relief cup and saucer, designed by renowned Danish designer Jens Harald Quistgaard for Kronjyden around 1958–1959.
The Relief collection is one of Quistgaard’s most recognisable ceramic designs, characterised by its repeating raised leaf motif and beautifully varied yellow-ochre glaze. The warm earthy surface contrasts elegantly with the smooth cream-coloured interior.
Produced in Denmark, Relief became an important example of Scandinavian mid-century stoneware and remains one of Quistgaard’s most sought-after tableware designs.
Natural variations in the glaze and colour are characteristic of the production and give individual pieces their distinctive appearance.
