Valto Kokko was a nordic Interior Decor designer from Finland
From 1958 to 1961, he studied metal craftsmanship at an art school. After that, he worked on plastic lighting design at the plastics manufacturer Oy Plastex Ab.
Later, his outstanding achievements during his student years and at Oy Plastex Ab were highly appreciated by his former teacher, Kaj Franck. Kaj Franck recommended him to iittala, and from 1963 onward, he was employed as a lighting designer for iittala.
