A beautiful vintage Arabia Kimmel soup tureen with lid, produced in Finland between 1967 and 1971.
The delicate Kimmel decoration was designed by renowned Finnish ceramic artist Esteri Tomula. Tiny stylised floral motifs in warm gold are scattered densely around the white porcelain body, creating an exceptionally refined and elegant surface.
The tureen features two practical side handles and its original fitted lid, including a serving-spoon opening at the rim. Its clean white form provides a beautiful contrast to Tomula’s intricate golden decoration.
The Kimmel decoration was used on Arabia’s C-model tableware, with the form associated with designer Richard Lindh.
Produced for only a relatively short period, Kimmel is now a discontinued vintage Arabia pattern and is particularly attractive as a complete serving piece.
