A striking vintage Arabia Paju plate, designed by Finnish ceramic designer Anja Jaatinen-Winquist.
The Paju series was produced by Arabia in Finland during the 1970s and is characterised by its bold, hand-painted decoration and strong graphic rhythm. “Paju” means willow in Finnish, and the repeating abstract forms around the rim are inspired by willow catkins. Different colour variations of the series were produced, including blue and yellow versions.
This example features a vibrant combination of deep blue, yellow and white and measures approximately 25.5 cm in diameter.
