Vintage Arabia BR Coffee Cup & Saucer – Göran Bäck, 1969–1975
A charming vintage Arabia BR model coffee cup and saucer, designed by Finnish ceramic designer Göran Bäck.
The BR form was used by Arabia between 1969 and 1975 and became one of the characteristic coffee cup shapes of the early 1970s. This example features a bold floral stencil decoration in deep blue, yellow and turquoise, paired with a matching turquoise saucer.
The decoration belongs to Arabia’s colourful stencil / blown-decoration production of the period, where floral and geometric motifs were applied in a graphic, slightly varied manner.
